A player who is generally in the centre of
the
offence, usually
the tallest player on a team, who takes the
tip-off and is
usually stationed in a
post position on
offence. The centre is, quite simply, the most physical of all five positions on the floor. It requires an ability to score while absorbing large amounts of physical contact. On the defensive end, the centre must be able to play with a large amount of body control and finesse.
